Chocolate Chip Lactation Cookies


These cookies will not only help with creating rich and plentiful milk for your bebe, but are also just delicious. Even my very skeptical 9 year old had no idea they were in fact chock full of good-for-you ingredients. I purposefully added healthy fats like coconut and almond butter because when you eat dense food, you produce denser milk. The Brewer's Yeast is a well known galactagogue that helps with increased milk production. It has a mild flavor so you likely won't even know it's there.

There is nothing more nourishing than sitting down with some milky Mama Tea and a warm cookie. It makes breastfeeding that much more enjoyable for mama and baby :)

Ingredients:

  • 2.5 Cups organic oats (gluten-free preferred)

  • 5 TBSP Brewers Yeast

  • 1.5 Cups Pamela's Gluten Free Pancake and Baking Mix

  • 3 TBSP ground flaxseed

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg

  • 4 TBSP shredded coconut

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 Cup coconut oil

  • 1/4 Cup maple syrup

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/4 Cup water

  • 2 Tbsp almond butter

  • *1/2 - 1 Cup mini chocolate chips (stir in last!)

Bake at 350 for 10-14 minutes or until cooked though and golden on the top

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350

  2. Mix dry ingredients together

  3. Mix wet ingredients together

  4. Combine wet ingredients into the dry and mix together with large spoon

  5. Stir in chocolate chips

  6. Scoop onto parchment paper lined cookie trays

  7. Bake at 350 for 10-14 minutes or until cooked though and golden on the top
